I just LOVE budgeting! I really LOVE the freedom! And I&#39;m okay with down-sizing and putting the most important things in place and leaving the rest . . . well, wherever people can find it who can use it. I&#39;m also the type that REFUSES to buy anything at regular price. Okay, most things I won&#39;t buy at regular price. I can&#39;t tell you the last time I spent the full amount for any articles of clothing. And it&#39;s nice sometimes to NOT be caught up on the things that just fill time, thought, space, and create distractions. Like dessert from filling foods, eh? I LOVE this analogy! You might need to start with a little water or apple juice, just enough to keep the apples from burning or sticking. Cook the apples slowly till they are soft. Add a little or no sugar depending on the type of apples you are using. Also add cinnamon. These is so much yummier then applesauce. You can put it in jars and process the same as applesauce. <br /><br />This was what my grandmother called applesauce. Every year we made like 100 jars of sauce (nothing in it - just plain ol&#39; smooshed apples). And then we ate it every day the rest of the year. You can do plain-dried, dip them in pineapple juice and then sprinkle them with cinnamon and sugar and then dry them, you can make fruit leather, etc. Applesauce really is probably your easiest, though -- and I LOVED to cut a square of material and a length of ribbon or whatever and decorate the top of the jar and give them away as gifts. There is also one of our favorite uses for the apple pie filling: apple crisp!
