Don't let her think like this

This has been popping up everywhere...and well...you can see why!

"I’ve got two daughters who will have to make their way in this skinny-obsessed world, and it worries me, because I don’t want them to be empty-headed, self-obsessed, emaciated clones; I’d rather they were independent, interesting, idealistic, kind, opinionated, original, funny - a thousand things, before ‘thin’. And frankly, I’d rather they didn’t give a gust of stinking chihuahua flatulence whether the woman standing next to them has fleshier knees than they do. Let my girls be Hermiones, rather than Pansy Parkinsons. Let them never be Stupid Girls."

  1. Oh my goodness, J.K. Rowling sure has a way with words! It made me laugh. And yes, I want all those things for my girls too.

  2. Amen, amen, amen! It is bad enough that I fight it, I don't want my sweet little girl to have to deal with it as well.

  5. Every woman and mother in America needs to read this.
It should be on billboards, and in girls' locker rooms.

  6. Yeah. I have one daughter and you can bet I really worry about that. Quite a bit. Seeing that I am overweight and am constantly trying (not hard enough) to lose weight. I don't want her to base her worth on her weight. LIke the world does.

Let's be friends. But only if you have a name. And like chocolate.
