The hard part about the beginning of November is that I feel bad for still mentioning Halloween. Like I can't put a costume picture up the day after because uhm...it'd done and gone already. But when else would I show the costumes? Do I only have until midnight before I fly over the moon?
No-no, I say. Let's keep this party going and let your costume awesomeness prevail.
Every All Hallows Eve after the trick-or-treating is done we return home to assess the goods. We make it a point to only go to the very best neighborhoods = the very best candy and so the loot is mighty fine. But there are some stragglers for sure....the candy that is less than desirable and will most certainly end up uneaten because well, it's just gross.
So I thought, how awesome would it be to find a good home for all our unwanted Halloween candy. After all, one man's trash is another man's treasure!
Enter the Online Costume Contest!
So! Send in your best costume pictures or a link to a blog post from Halloween and you will be judged by us (as in me and whoever is in the same room at the time). Deadline for entry is Friday November 4th. Your prize will be our unwanted bag of candy plus the knowledge that well... you WON! Wahoo! Send your submission to carriestroud{at}gmail{dot}com. The winner will be announced on Monday.

PS. I have not taken my Halloween decorations down yet and I probably won't for awhile. I didn't put them up until mid-October so I think they deserve to hang out for awhile. Plus I have about 8 loads of clean laundry piled up who I think get dibs on being put away first.
PPS. Check out some amazing homemade Halloween costumes here. This is my old Seminary Teacher Sister Mitchell and her daughter Rachel who I went to high school with (albeit she was/is a few years younger). Both of their creativity does not surprise me one bit.

Ha Ha - OK no offense but we have so much candy here that this is one contest I do not want to win!! Great Idea though to get rid of the candy.
ReplyDeleteWe have a dentist here in town who buys candy from the kids - Love that!
If I send in some pics, will you promise NOT to send me the candy...??
ReplyDelete;)
I'll be happy to share my costume, but I don't need the candy since I am not a big candy person. Thank you though!
