Yesterday

+ Finished reading the Hunger Games series.  I didn't love the last book-- but I read all three books in three days so I was probably too pumped.  Otherwise..intense and a good read. I tried telling Rowdy how much I was liking them and he said, "Children killing each other?  Are you crazy?  That is awful and I will never read that." Am I just warped or something?

+ I found out that I have MLK Monday off of work.  Wahoo! That means that I will have had (3) 3 day weekends in the last month.  Awesome.  Should we do anything spectacular?  Like clean the bathrooms, maybe?

+ I had a drop-by at work from some new friends.  That was just nice. But they didn't bring any treats. What's up with that? New friend manners, people...always bring treats.

+ Speaking of treats, I am sure glad they didn't bring any because I have started my new 30 day challenge (thank you Jocelyn) to stay under my allotted caloric intake. That's cooler than saying I am counting calories.  Day 2 is off to a good start.

+ Rowdy tried to buy a changing table from pottery barn that was a screaming good deal. On his own.  He was totally going to buy it and I'm not even pregnant.  How cute is that?(sad...out of stock)

+ I was so proud of myself for remembering to grab a redbox movie off the counter before I left the house and returning it only to find out he just rented it.  OOPS. Go ahead...LOL...

and oh! The sun is shining here today in Seattle and I am oh-so-grateful for that!

  1. Wohooo...good for you! I've simplified my died goal down froma 30 day to...please let me just weigh less at the end of the week than I do right now. It's working pretty well so far! ha ha!

I'm with your husband, I can't bring myself to read HG, but I know "everyone" loves those books!

  2. I haven't read the series either, but my sister liked it and she is pretty discriminating. I don't know why I can't get myself to go there...

Funny that you returned your hubby's newly-rented movie!

    =)

  3. Read the books didn't care for the last one either (it was so boring for the first 1/3 of the book) but I am WAY excited to see the movie! Should be intriguing!

  4. The thing about Hunger Games is the way they portray the killing through Katniss's point of view. I thought it was brilliantly written. I agree on the third book though. It left a yucky taste in my mouth.
Can't wait for the movie!!!!! The people they cast are seriously going to be perfect.

  5. I love that you returned his rented movie. I laughed at the computer over that one.

I haven't read the third book. I have it, but I hated the first two, why did I download the third one? Explain that please.

  6. Here via Pinterest! Love the blog.

Not a huge fan of book 3 either:) Although my hubs devoured them. I think he was thinking they would have to be like Twilight cause those are the only books he had seen me read in our almost 10 years of marital bliss~ters :) I described them as a twist on "Survivor, meets Rambo for kids". He was hooked!

And I may be a bit of a brat, but I wish that there were Red Box drive by drop off's so I don't have to go into McDonalds in my jammies while my kids are in the car bawling that I don't buy them "happy" meals. :)
