YUM!

Kai had his weekly speech therapy yesterday which included a visit from an occupational therapist as well. During our visit we decided that we should try to kill two birds with one stone. 1) Get him to eat more (he's a grazer) and 2) increase his sensory integration (he has a hard time being social because he's not confident with himself physically).

Solution: plop peanut butter on his tray and let him have at it! Seems so simple--why didn't I think of it before? I guess because I'm always trying to reduce messes instead of encourage them. Not any more:) Finger painting with pudding is tomorrow if you want to join us!

He loved it! He got messy, played with his hands, ate the peanut butter, and then of course, wanted to clean his hands immediately afterwards. But it was so cute!! It was a proud moment for me...to see my little artist blooming. I definitely had an "ahhhhhhh" moment.

And then comes the glorious oreo escapade...

Brianna and I snuck the cookies down when Aaron was in the other room and breathlessly had a secret oreo and milk escapade on my bed. It was so fun. Our little secret.

The lyrics from the song Escapade by Janet Jackson come to mind:

Thought you’d want to hang For a while Well I’d like to be with you And you know it’s friday too I hope you can find the time This weekend to relax and unwind My mind’s tired I’ve worked so hard all week Cashed my check I’m ready to go I promise you I’ll show you such a good time Come on baby let’s get away Let’s save your troubles for another day Come go with me we’ve got it made Let me take you on an escapade (let’s go!)

Es-ca-pade

We’ll have a good time

Es-ca-pade

Leave your worries behind

Es-ca-pade

You can be mine

Es-ca-pade

An escapade

So don’t hold back Just have a good time We’ll make the rules up As we go along And break them all If we’re not havin’ fun Come on baby let’s get away Let’s save your troubles for another day Come go with me we’ve got it made Let me take you on an escapade (let’s go!)

My mind’s tired I’ve worked Worked so hard all week I just got paid, we’ve got it made Ready to go I promise you I’ll show you Such a good time Come on baby let’s get away Let’s save your troubles for another day Come go with me we’ve got it made Let me take you on an escapade (let’s go!)

Nice! There's something great abut choosing to let them make a mess instead of finding out that it was already chosen for you.
Love you, Kai - you're getting cuter by the day! That color is great on you, by the way :)

Looks like so much fun! Those kids sure are growing up fast... Don't you wonder how they get older and we don't age?

Hey Carrie! I cannot believe how beautiful your children are! I have not seen a picture of Kai until now and Brianna has gotten so big. Can you believe they were just babies? Hope You are doing well. Mom keeps me updated through Annette. Becca
