I just changed a diaper at 2am because Kai's will get too wet by 5:30am and he will wake up. If I don't go to sleep until really really late I can change his diaper in the middle of the night and avoid an early wet wake up, therefore allowing myself to sleep in until 7:30am. Makes perfect sense, don't you think?
While we are on the subject of diaper changing... My 25 year old bro and I discovered that the first diaper my 15 year old brother changed was tonight when he changed Kai. How in the world is that possible? 11 kids in the family, and it seems as though the younger 5 got off easy. So I started thinking..and calculating..and here it comes.
I found out that the number of diapers you change over a 2 year period = approx 7,200, which averages about 10 diapers a day. However, after 2 years I think that amount is reduced. I know that I only change Kai about 6x a day and he is almost 3. Brianna was not potty trained until she was 3, so let's just add a 3 year period to her as well.
Brianna 1-2 years: 10 diapers x 364 days a year =7200
Brianna 2-3 years: 6 diapers x 364 days a year =2184
Kai 1-2 years =7200
Kai 2-3 years = 2184
(-200 diapers that Aaron has changed)
My 2 kids = 18568 diapers
Now let's add my siblings. I was 11 when the 2nd batch of Brown kids were born--so from the time I was 11 through 18 years 5 more kids were born (but the youngest was born when I moved out so we won't count her) I KNOW I changed approximately 1/4 of all their diapers, if not more. But to be fair, I am going to only add 1 year (at 6 diapers a day) for each kid.
My bros and sisters: 2184 x 4 kids =13104 diapers
Grand total of diapers changed in my lifetime = 31672
I'm going to bed now.

Yikes!! I hope I never have to change that many!
2:22 am huh? You must have been on a sugar/chocolate kick last night! :)
Carrie I feel your pain.
That's A LOT of diapers, woman! Loved that picture, too! Gross.
I don't believe it! It can't be true. But the though of it alone makes me want to stop at only two children. :(
Funny. I just got the idea in my head to try to figure out how many diapers I have changed in my lifetime. I changed many a diaper when I used to babysit as a child, and changed my sister's 3 kids diapers a bunch of times, but now I have 5 children, all who are out of daytime diapers except one! I am going to do some math and figure this out!! When I googled it... I found your post! Very cool!
