Good for you! It is a lot of work. I tried peaches last summer and decided they weren't worth the work. However, I do make jam every summer. Have you gone blackberry picking yet. When we lived in Seattle I also made Blackberry jam and then froze a bunch of berries for pies in the winter. Yummy!
