PB&J

(one sandwich has already been eaten)

Kai asks for PB&J every day.  2x a day usually.  And making these sandwiches can get pretty old.  Even older because someone who shall remain nameless but rhymes with "Howdy" has trained our children to like sandwiches without the crust.  Because HE doesn't like the crust.  So let's just pass that ridiculous habit down to our posterity, why don't we.

But I don't feel TOO bad about it because they are made with natural peanut butter and wheat bread and homemade jam. Which totally counteracts the crust being taken off, right?

Yesterday I came into the kitchen to witness Rowdy making 6 sandwiches.  I had to laugh because he said it would give us a head start on our day.  And he wanted to see what Kai would say when he presented them to him.

Kai laughed for a minute.

And said WHOA.

Daddy, you made me this many?  You're silly.

He ate 2 1/2 before he was done for the DAY.

But don't worry, the crust is not wasted.  Spike has a stash all to himself.

I make three peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every single night to put in my kids lunches. It's my least favorite part of the entire evening... I mean, it isn't really a big deal. It's just a sandwich. Or three. But it DOES get old!

And that boy, staring at those sandwiches? Holy cute.

My kids prefer fluff to jelly with their peanut butter. I didn't even know what fluff was before we moved to the east coast. I make 5-6 sandwiches every day for lunches. I wish my kids liked them as well as yours and I could be assured they actually ate the ones I made.

My Dad mixes his peanut butter and jelly in a bowl before he puts it on his bread.

Throughout high school I would eat dinner. Eat a lot of dinner even. Then get up and make a couple peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. My Mom she didn't take offense because I would always eat a lot of dinner first.

In Australia they can't believe we eat Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches.
