A little girl sewing project

I saw this pattern here and I just knew it would be the perfect project for Brianna to make for her GamMommy.  We made a few changes to personalize, but with her little ideas of color and stitches, I think I like it better!  What made it even more awesome was that I had a random hoop, the linen, and the felt all at home, so the cost was ZERO.

We had some serious frustrating moments.  But I was a good mommy and told her to get over herself and just do it;)

It was her very first embroidery experience.
Not bad for a 9 year old, eh?

(My MIL said she felt like a grandma when she hung it up on her wall.  Rowdy was like, "Uhmmm...newsflash Mom.  You ARE a grandma")  But I think it would look great on my non-grandma wall, too!

I love it. She did a great job. We have started the girls on cross stitch here with gingham material and embroidry thread. One of my daughters as taken to it amazingly well. For christmas we got her a real cross stitch piece to do. She is so excited. I love when I find something that they enjoy doing.
