Planning my next party

Summer is coming and with that must come a party.  I think every few months I just NEED to have one.  I love to get my creative juices flowing and there is something so magical about the stress of it all. Ha!  But I also need to have a break in between them because the prep is so time-consuming and that is why I only have a few a year.

My friend asked me a few months ago, "what's with the parties?"  Why do I feel the need to have them?  I had to think about my answer for a bit and then I said that I think I like throwing them because I am good at it.

Is that reason enough? I hope so.

I have a couple ideas swirling around...but I thought it might be fun to have your help picking the theme!  And if you are in the Seattle area and know me/follow my blog, you can bet your bottom dollar that you will be invited (and well, if you want to fly here that could work, too.) The more is always the merrier.

Here are my ideas for a party with my lady friends (and remember this is just the base and may or may not reflect the actual theme of the party...there will certainly be a creative twist):
  • An Art Party- this could get fun and messy!
  • A tented picnic
  • A dinner on the beach
  • A city scavenger hunt
  • Hot potato
  • Popcorn and a movie

Thoughts?

Life is fantastic and messy, but why not have a party. I wish I lived closer because I would love to come to one of your parties.

I love the party idea, I live too far away to be there, but I would vote for the beach!! Have fun planning. I think it sounds great.

Oooh! An art party would so fabulous!

And I like that you put so much effort into awesome parties. You're the only one that I know in real life that enjoys doing so. I love to throw parties but the people that come just don't... react. Does that make sense? Anyway - art! art! art!

I love art parties. I did one for my daughter when she turned two...she is an artist from the start...all of the children loved it!! And it gave me an excuse to splurge on awesome art supplies!

I've only got royal wedding on the mind. With all the sweet ideas you gave me, I think that idea is my favorite even though it wasn't on your list. :) If you can throw it together in a week, that's the one I'd pick. he he he

have fun!!!

I have a friend that is much like you. She LOVES to give parties.

And yes, it's because she's good at it!

REALLY good.

Oh my, those all sound so cute and amazing! I don't think I could choose! The art one sounds like tons of fun, the beach is always amazing, watching movies is my favorite thing to do... I don't remember the other ones you suggested, but they all sound like tons of fun! Hope I'm able to make it - whatever it is!

Did you know, I first found you from a party you threw? The Lemon party, or the yellow party. Something like that. I figured any girl who can throw such an awesome party and make it look so beautiful just because is someone I have got to get to know. I love all those ideas, though I think my favorite is the tented dinner. That just sounds so victorian and romantic. Sigh. Can't wait to see what you do.
