makes me think happy thoughts

The moment I saw this picture I knew I wanted it.  The bunk bed, the curtains, the fabric colors and the tights on the girls.  It's all so so so beautiful.

But I think what I love about it the most is that it made me remember when I was a kid.  There is a certain feel to it, no?  Like a mix of  "vintage-hideout-kid-laughing-comfort."

It made me remember a few things:

Like that time when it rained so hard that the playground flooded and a mattress floated by-- so I rode on top of it like a boat past the merry go round and swing set.

Like that time on a church-family camp-out when I was 6 or 7 and Ryan and I decided to hike to Donut Falls about 2 miles away.  Without telling anyone.  Just following the sound of the water and hoping we were going the right direction.  And best yet, how no one knew we were gone;)

Like that time when we played in the musty smelling basement and convinced Laura to keep red hot heart candies in her mouth for a minute.  I don't think she has forgiven us yet.

Like that time when we grabbed all our Mother's 70's clothes and ran out to take pictures in fields with cows. And how the cows were not too thrilled with us.

Like that time when jumping in piles of leaves took my breath away, when secrets were meant to be secrets, when taking a flashlight to bed meant a good ghost story would be told, and when childhood was...BLISS.

Yes. I want it. It's good to remember.

Isn't it great to have wonderful childhood memories.
That picture definately says "warmth", "love" and "home".

I think what I like about the picture is that it's not all matchy-matchy or even color coordinated. It could have been taken at my house! :D Loved reading some of your childhood memories.
