First of all

What's up? I cannot believe the lack of people participating in my giveaway. Did I mention you'll be receiving some prints and a box full of really great stuff? It's over on Saturday so hop to it!

Second of all, dear husband watched this prank show and is now convinced that he needs to pull pranks on me all the time. Today he put a rubber band on the spray nozzle in the sink and asked me to fill up a pot. Yep. Soaking wet. SO NOW, I need some really good pranks to pull on him. I am searching back to my girls camp days...

Third of all, dear son likes to empty entire bottles of shampoo in the tub every night. Tonight it was half the toothpaste. Any ideas on how to overcome this? Besides me watching him every second, of course.

And fourth of all, I sold my lovely chocolate brown leather couch and I need a moment of silence please...

Dear Couch,

I loved you the moment you were carried into my door on Christmas Eve 2005. You have been good to me and my children, never leaving a mess that could not be cleaned up, and never letting dog hair stay. You were there through the thick and thin, okay---well, I'm still thick so we'll ex that part. You lovingly held my unfolded laundry, baby drool and random Goodwill finds with care until they could all be cleaned and put away. You were there for every friendly conversation and every "my husband vs. my girlfriend debate". You cradled our friends for every movie night. Even in the worst winter power outage in Seattle history--your fold out bed helped us sleep by the fire with ease. Your clean lines and modern design never wavered in comfort, and I thank you for that, dear couch. Your color has contrasted beautifully with every living room color I have chosen and every orange or teal or moss green pillow I could throw on you. Not many couches could be as versatile, you know. You will always be remembered with fondness and love. Adieu.

our first night together

with friends...

oh, and can I just vent a minute? The new buyers of our house are repainting my beautiful blue-gray living room...taupe. Can you believe that crap? Apparently, she doesn't have a chocolate brown couch to contrast with. To each his own.

I did so love your perfect blue-gray walls (at least in pictures :) - but don't knock the taupe until you see her accessories! ;)

Pranks, pranks ... the best one I know is the rubber band on the spray nozzle, but it looks like that one's out. Check Martha or Family Fun, and look under April Fool's Day for some good ideas.

OK, so maybe I don't understand... Why did you have to sell your couch? It looks in great condition!?!

Carrie said...

reason for the sale is 1# we learned last time it costs a ton to move space-wise (our method of moving), #2 we can't guarantee it will fit into our new apt since we are downsizing for a bit, and #3 we are able to get a great price and the value out of it if we sell now BECAUSE it's in great condition.

Oh couch, I can tell you were so well loved! I love the wall color. It kills me when the new buyer paints over my fabulous walls.

Maybe put your shampoo and toothpaste up high or lcked in a child locked cabnet. Or hide it from him. Payton use to do this and I had to learn the hard way too.

Pranks! Have you done the gelitan in the toilet water or the koolaid on the towles, bullion in the shower head or pulling the water hose out of the tioet tank just enough to soak him when he flushes...all may end up being cleaned up by you though so I'll keep thinking. I was th master of pranks in highschool.

here's an idea to get Aaron back, and it's something I did to you when we lived in Selinsgrove. Get an Oreo, take out the frosting, and fill it in with toothpaste. Remember this? You chased me all around the house when you found out what I had done. Hey! I was just trying to help you brush your teeth and eat at the same time! ha-ha!! Oh the sweet memories!!!

Get a preggo friend to "use" a pregnancy test for you and surprise him. Or is that mean? I'm no good at practical jokes cause I don't know where the line is!

So glad you were able to sell your house! That's a huge blessing!

Hey,

For the shampoo thing,
Put his shampoo in those cute little travel bottles. They love those, at least my anna did. That way you control how much is in there and you just refill it. This means that you have to put the big shampoo bottle out of the way.

Prank Aaron..hmmm You should call nick, he's always full of ideas!

Hey the OREO was my idea!!! I will never forget the first time I did it to you kids!!! and how the mint green toothpaste goes great with the spring time oreos, or just plain crisco and you kids didnt notice the difference.. GROSS!! The ususal paper in the cookies, use jagged edges so as to have the paper blend sandwiched in between the cookie dough, remember your birthday cake where I showed you the ultrasound pics and you figured out it was annie and not you... carrots instead of cheese for stuffed crust pizza.. Now if you kids will just forgive me for all the jokes I did on you!!!! We are soooo excited about your move!!!!!! How can i choose just one blog when they are all soo wonderful!! does this mean I can enter more than once??!!!!! Love you all!! mama

My favoriet post is Nov 3, 2008. Sweet, sweet Kai. Because I have a boy just JUST like him. But he's eight, and no one in the world understands him or loves him like I do. I wish you could be his primary teacher. So someone could understand him, a little bit.
