Got up at 2am.
Drove to the nearest Walmart -20 minutes away
Spent 30 minutes waiting in line just to get from the exit to the parking lot
Spent 15 minutes waiting for the Sheriff to let me IN the parking lot
Cursed. Cursed. Cursed. (I was alone-- don't judge me)
Waited in line outside 1 hour
Made it inside, spending 45 minutes trying to navigate my cart between the other thousand
Didn't get myself to the items on my list in time
Oh wait! Here's the hungry hippo game!
Got in the checkout line
Told it was a 2 hour wait to check out
Not even
Cursed. Cursed. Cursed.
Hungry Hippo-- you are so not worth it
Left HELL empty handed
Drove home
Went back to bed defeated

The secret is to never go alone! And go to a super walmart, they don't close so you can go on in and stand next to what you want. I had my mom, sister, and husband all there standing next to a pallet ready for 5am. Oh, and share a cart. I LOVE black Friday, I couldn't go to sleep I was so excited and afraid I would over sleep.
I won't even venture into the Renton Wal-Mart on a regular day, much less Black Friday (but that's just the one closest to us, maybe others aren't so scary even at noon mid-week). Kudos to you for trying!
Oh man! Definitely something NOT to do in a big city! We started at 7:30 THE NIGHT BEFORE and didn't sleep until 11:00 a.m. the NEXT morning. Was it worth it? Well, got everything on my list and something I hadn't planned on buying right then but felt really grateful that I got it just the same! *sigh* What we do to save a penny. But I really wouldn't even GO there if I weren't in a small-ish city/small-ish town every year! I'm amazed you even ventured out. Next time, send me an e-mail and we'll coordinate! :-)
P.S. - I totally agree that BLACK FRIDAY is only fun if you have a cohort in crime and can divide and conquer! :)
Oh Carrie... Be of good cheer! You can get that game online places. Black Friday is a crazy day and I just don't do it! More Power to ya. Mom was successful... Very successful! I got to see it all.... Yeah for me. You all soon to find out.
Walmart is never an option for us. We hit 3 stores in three hours and got out with all of our shopping done. Next year do kohls, then target and fred meyer. I hate walmart! Especially on black friday! You are brave my dear!
