Christmas Ornament Exchange

Why am I talking about this before Halloween?  Well, because...uhm...I can.  And if the stores can have Christmas items out in July, by golly jingle I can talk about ornaments before All Hallows Eve.

Ornaments mean something to me. Each one I add to my tree represents a time in my life, a Christmas, that is worth remembering.  Aren't they all?  Even that one holiday season when Rowdy was first diagnosed with his kidney disorder. His mother bought him an ornament at Emory Hospital while she stayed there with him when I couldn't. We hang that ornament up with fondness every year.  Funny how that works?

Ornament exchanges are delightful because each person has their own personal touch.  And that spreads warmth and a connection that only a darling pipe cleaner angel on a tree can express.

So begins my own!  I would like to organize one now so that everyone involved will have a time of preparation.  Ornaments can be either made or bought.  However, they must be symbolic of YOU, or at least given with a heartfelt message that you would like to express.

Once everyone has signed up,  I will assign a name for you to send your ornament to. You will then receive one in return.  Deadline for each woman to receive hers is December 15th.

**If you are interested in sending more than one ornament, then I can make my exchange accordingly.  For instance, if I have 6 participants, each person will be required to make and send 6 ornaments to different people.  You will then receive 6 ornaments in return.  Please note in your email whether or not you would be interested in going this route (give more, receive more).

Deadline to sign up is November 1st.  Once you commit, please follow through;)  Email me at carriestroud@gmail.com

PS.  If you blog about this exchange to invite others, it will be even more fun!  And you will receive a bonus ornament from ME. (Please let me know that you did.)

I think this is a Fantastic idea!!
I too have an ornament for every year that represents something special in our lives - it just makes decorating the tree that much more meaningful and fun!
I would really like to participate in the ornament exchange.
Also, I am going to put it on my Holiday countdown tomorrow on my blog.
Thanks for setting this up!

Given that we are moving into our new house across the country 2 days before Christmas, I think I will have to wait until next year. Sounds like fun, though.
