Pie Party!

Basically, it was GOOD.

It was cold and rainy so I had to move it underneath a covered picnic area (bummer), but I think all the pie in our stomachs created some serious warmth. My only wish is that more friends could have been there!
Here's my pecan pie.  YUM.

A table full of pies.  I used burlap for the table cloth.

Pie Recipe Banner--I seriously had a dream about doing this!  I grabbed some old cookbooks from the thrift store and tore out all the pages for pie recipes.  Then I strung them as our banner and placed them on the pie serving table as well.  I loved the colors, pictures, and texture that they created.

I love these clear milk jars that I found at a thrift store. I tied raffia and burlap around and then filled with darling pumpkin stems.

I brought every basket I owned at home, turned them upside down and used them as a "stand."

Oh.My.Gosh. That's all I have to say.

I'm obsessed with the pie recipe pages on the table.

These sodas were yummy.  Black Cherry, Spiced Ginger Ale, Root Beer, and Blood Orange. And aren't the colors pretty?

I put a bunch of "pie lingo" around the tables, and we had some pie trivia that awarded a vintage pie plate and homemade apple pie filling!

Homemade whipped cream.  Can't live without it.

Show off;)

My favors were like, my fave.  A pumpkin cream pie Yankee candle tied with a tag that I made (around 1am).  It makes me happy just looking at it.

I wish I had a picture of these outside of the bag!  These are PIE POPS...mini apple pies on a stick that are surprisingly easy to make.  I saw the picture HERE and made my own recipe using my pie crust and apple pie filling.

Thanks to all the lovely ladies who cooked their heart out to make it all so yummy. I have officially decided that the next party will contain no sugar;)

Verdict:

Pie A La More.

I remember when I came and visited you guys and you made me a pie. I took it on the plane home. That pie made it through security and all. Deep inside I was hoping they would didn't let me through security with it and made me eat it on the spot. That pie was so good.

I'm telling you people, you should have been there! It was dreamy. Amazing and beautiful job Carrie. Thanks for celebrating everything in life and making it all so pretty.

p.s. i'm trying to savor the pecan pie, but it's about gone. I have been hiding it in the oven to keep beggars at bay. :)

I haven't looked but is your Pecan Pie recipe available or is it a secret? Would you mind sharing with a former GA native? PRETTY PLEASE!
