I guess you have never truly lived in the South unless you have tried them. Here is our Tudy (pronounced too-dee) as she shells them for the little and big ones to consume. Because of her wheelchair, the top of the couch is a perfect resting place for consumption.
(there is an art to eating them. You first bite the shell, sluuuurrrrp up the juice, and then break it open to eat the soft salty peanut inside.)

Today my house is a disaster. Rowdy is really sick and this quarter of Grad School just started up. Empty boxes are piled up waiting to be packed. Dinner dishes still need to be washed (is there anything more upsetting than waking up to a dirty kitchen?) And really, I am not sure how I am going to pack it all and work as much as I have to.
But I am choosing to remember that all is well as long as boiled peanuts remain in my memory.

My husband and I were telling my kids about boiled peanuts the other day! I think I will have to make some this week.

I feel like I have missed so much. I am catching up with blogs.
You went to Disneyworld!! I LOVE it there!!!
Sweet pictures of your Tudy - everyone needs a Tudy to eat peanuts with (wink).
Hope your New Year is fabulous!
Oh yeah, we have had them. I used to live in the south and it is pretty much a given that everyone will eat them and like them. I like them myself, but my kids did not enjoy them as much.
I'm more of a sunflower gal. Hubs, however, would be right there next to you on the couch devouring those things.
