I had a dream last night

that Paris Hilton loved my blog and said so on Oprah and that I woke up and had 10,000+ followers.  And these followers were all mothers with values and mad decorating skills.

Let's see what is wrong with this dream, shall we?

1. Oprah would never have Paris Hilton on as a guest. And I know this because I googled it.
2. Paris Hilton would not love my blog unless it had scantily clad pictures or referenced make-out sessions.  Oh wait!  That would be here and here.
3. People who like Paris Hilton are typically NOT mothers with values and mad decorating skills.
4. 10,000+ followers don't appear overnight. Do they?
5. It is now apparent to me that if I have a dream about Paris Hilton, Oprah, and my blog, I need serious too-much-media therapy.

And here is a picture that has absolutely nothing to do with this post....but it just goes to show that my dreams are not entirely a reflection of who I am because I have some seriously artistic children.

The thing is, sometimes 10000 followers do appear overnight. I've seen some blogs that literally explode on the blogosphere and within months have huge followings. And then there are those of us that plod along slowly, wondering how we missed the party bus.

Tis all good though. Blogging can create fantastic friendships for big blogs, and the little blogs too. And that's what really matters, yes?

(But I would still love 10000 followers.)

Yea for dreams! Without them who would we be? Hope that the best part of your dreams come true!

This is just one example of why dreams totally rule.

Even if you don't have 10,000 followers, I think your blog is awesome and love reading every post! (Even if I'm more or a lurker than a commenter)

A dream is a wish your heart makes.

Right?
No.

Sometimes I do wish I had a massive following. Especially with my writing aspirations. (I know, everyone and their dog has writing aspirations).

But my dreams are often weird, sometimes nightmarish, and mostly don't make sense. Those sure aren't wishes my heart makes when I'm fast asleep. Just a random soup of brain functions.

Good luck with Oprah.

You girls are cracking me up. I'm really not so concerned with the followers as I am with Paris Hilton. (I'm super happy with all you lovely ladies) I don't know...maybe my dream is a subliminal message of my true feelings? I think the number 10,000came from a blog I saw yesterday who had that many;)
