Got Milk? Baby Shower

Milk!  It does a baby good.

Ridiculously fun baby shower.  I asked the guests to bring food that they love to drink with milk--and we got quite the selection!  The invitations that I made for this shower I posted about here.

As an activity, I had the guests participate in a "Got Milk? Photo Shoot" found HERE on my photo blog. Caution--you might want to bring some cookies to this wild party!

Milk'n in it for the camera, are we?!

I loved the take-home milk boxes filled with mini Milky Ways.  The template from the sweetest occasion is found here.

Baby bottles filled with milk and cute straws were our beverage of choice.

The star(s) of the show!
(This t-shirt was made for her using an iron on transfer)

I found these old milk bottle caps and milk maid playing cards on Etsy and made a banner.  I absolutely LOVE how they turned out and they were my inspiration for everything.

I really love the labels that I put on the bottles to differentiate the type of milk!
1% - "I care about the scale"
2% - "I don't care about the scale"
Chocolate % - "Screw the scale"

The goods that everyone brought!  Cereal, french toast, brownies, cookies, cinnamon rolls, scones (to name a few!) - quite the messy table after everyone devoured it, but you get the picture;)

pom-pom instructions found here

I used old milk bottles to hold the tulips and we used my grandmother's milk glass china. Gotta stick with the theme, you know?

It was great fun.

No crying over spilt milk here!
(really, could I be any more hilarious?)

*Special thanks to Tiffany for making the milk box favors and t-shirt!  And to my sister Abby for helping me decorate and refrain from having a nervous breakdown the night before;)

Invites to a "Got Milk?" Baby Shower

I'm putting these up early mainly because I want an entire post directed to the shower itself.  I was up late one night and it came to me... a GOT MILK? baby shower.  I have seen cookies and milk parties, which are really cute, but I wanted to take a different type of spin on it with a mixture of vintage and modern fun with the emphasis on milk...because...isn't that just hysterical?

I had been leaning towards using EVITE invites for awhile because, well, it's super easy online and people tend to RSVP more.  But on the other hand, I felt the need to have something more tangible so she could place it in her baby book.  I haven't done mailed invitations in such a long time, so I really tried to put effort into making them unique.

I found an adorable "baby girl with bottle" print and scanned it in on my computer, then printed it out on these invitations that are made to look like grocery bags.

I searched forever for this baby bottle stamp and I think it added just the right touch.  Although the logo is quite modern, it made it feminine for a baby girl as well.

There is not an exact font made for the GOT MILK logo that I know of, but here is one that is very similar that I used instead.

There now!  It was so fun to make and I am pretty happy with the results!

I mean really, if I got one of these babies in the mail I would be like, "Freak ya, I'm coming!"

haha!
