It's the little things

_DSC0190

This morning I woke up and realized that I had forgotten to turn the dishwasher on last night.  Ugh.  My sanity requires waking up to a clean kitchen in the AM, and that means that dishes have to be washed and ready to be put away when I wake up, too. Then I went to open the door to put soap in and turn it on but "wait!" they were washed.

It's the little things that make me love him.

We planted a "container garden" this year.  Our very first garden, actually.  We've had the casual tomato and pepper plants and herbs, but this time we planted potatoes and carrots and lettuce and peppers and tomatoes and 3 kinds of thyme and garlic and leeks and spinach, etc.  Even though all we have is a patio, we made the most of it.

Every night I see him snipping and pruning and watering and caring for our little green ones.  And every night he asks me to come out and look with him.  Look at what we have grown.  And so I sometimes do and I am amazed at the growth in just one day as he points out the new sprouts and what he did to hopefully "make this one healthier."

It's the little things that make me love him.

What a sweet husband you have!

I'm glad you said something about the WinCo thing because that was seriously lame. I've felt silly about it ever since. I guess we were both in grocery shopping mode but I still feel bad. I hope we can hang out some time because I really admire you and I wish I knew you better!

I think this everyday when I go to the door and see he has locked it on his way out the door at 4 am. He loves us enough to do something that probably takes a minute out of his hurried morning to protect us. Great post! It inspires me to write something similiar...Do you mind??
